Our local food co-op, Honest Weight, has a quarterly newsletter (The Coop Scoop – check it out!), and they’ve asked me to contribute some illustrations. These were created entirely in Photoshop using custom brushes (as always) and a woodblock print texture overlayed.
Of course I sprinkled some natural science into each one: jasmine blossoms for the article about aromatherapy, and the eco-consciousness piece shows a coffee plant and some plantation habitat with an avian representative. This second illustration involved quite a bit of research, actually. I learned a lot about coffee and all the things we should be mindful of when purchasing our favorite blend.
For the next Scoop issue I get to illustrate strawberries!
